Frequently Asked Questions
Town House Shanti FAQs
What does Town House Shanti at Amansala look out on?
Town House Shanti has a courtyard view rather than a direct ocean outlook. It is a calm, private base within the resort. The beach is only a short walk away, roughly three to five minutes depending on the source, so the sea is close even though the windows face the courtyard.
How are the beds arranged and how many people does the townhouse sleep?
The townhouse has six bedrooms with three king beds and six queen beds between them, and it sleeps up to 12 guests. With a bedroom for each couple or family unit, it works well for groups who want their own space.
How many bathrooms does Town House Shanti have?
There are six bathrooms, so a separate bathroom is available for each bedroom. Showers are provided, along with free toiletries including shampoo, and bed sheets are supplied in the bedrooms.
Can we cook in the townhouse, or do we have to eat out?
You can do either. The townhouse has a full kitchen with cookware, dishware and utensils, and a living room to eat and relax in. Room service runs limited hours, and champagne service is available for celebrations. The beachfront restaurant is open daily from about 8:30 am to 9:30 pm and serves Mexican-inspired and grill dishes with ocean views.
Is Town House Shanti suitable for families with children?
Yes, it is set up for families, with a high chair, a kitchen and separate bedrooms. Some booking sites note that outdoor spaces such as balconies and terraces may not suit young children, so keep that in mind with little ones. Booking sites also list a minimum check-in age of 18 for the main guest, so an adult in your group should be the one to check in.
How close is the townhouse to the beach, pool and spa?
Amansala sits directly on the beach on the Tulum Hotel Zone road at Km 5.5, with the sand about a 3 to 5 minute walk away. The resort has an oceanfront pool with a sun terrace and a Beach Club with a pool and hot tub. The on-site spa offers Mayan Healing Massage, deep tissue and reflexology. From May 1 to December 15, booking any spa treatment includes full Beach Club access at no extra charge.
Does the townhouse have air conditioning, and are there any extra costs to know about?
Yes, the bedrooms have air conditioning. Under the resort's retreat booking terms, air conditioning runs 9 pm to 9 am as standard, and all-day cooling costs an extra $25 USD. Those terms also add 16% tax and a $30 USD daily gratuity per person. Wired internet is free, and there is free on-site parking.
Is Town House Shanti a good choice for group retreats and celebrations?
It suits groups, retreats and celebrations well. Twelve guests share one private townhouse with a living room and kitchen, and the resort has six yoga shalas, a spa and beachfront dining. Yoga classes start from US$20 and fitness or dance classes from US$35. The restaurant can cater private events with set menus, and it has DJs on weekends.
How do we get to Amansala from the airport, and what are check-in times?
Tulum International Airport (TQO) is about 45 to 50 minutes from the resort, and Cancún International Airport is about two hours away. An airport transfer is available for a surcharge, and you should send your arrival details in advance. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. Luggage storage is offered before check-in and after check-out.
